Flowers for Jackson, MS

Jackson wears a lot of hats at once, and its flowers move through all of them. Fondren, the arts-and-restaurant district north of downtown, keeps a steady rhythm of birthday and just-because orders; Belhaven's oak-shaded streets near Millsaps College trade in anniversaries and welcome-home bouquets; the State Capitol and the downtown office towers send congratulations and get-well pieces; and looming over all of it, the University of Mississippi Medical Center on North State Street generates a river of hospital deliveries that the local shops handle every single day. Add the Northside Drive corridor and Eastover to the north, Jackson State University and south Jackson below the interstate split, and the capital becomes a wide grid where the florist closest to the recipient's ZIP wins the run.
