Flowers for Nashville, NC

Nashville, North Carolina, is the kind of place people drive through on their way to Rocky Mount without realizing it is the older of the two towns and the seat of Nash County. The 1921 courthouse still anchors the square, and life in town orbits it: the county offices, the small downtown blocks along Washington and Barnes Streets, the churches, and the schools spreading north and west. Flowers here move on that small scale. A same-day driver is not covering a metro; the driver is covering a square and the streets that fan out from it — Eastern Avenue toward the highway, the subdivisions off Red Oak Road, and the country crossroads at Momeyer and Coopers where a bouquet to a farmhouse porch is as common as one downtown.
