Flowers for Laramie, WY

Laramie is a University of Wyoming town first and a railroad town second, and both shape how flowers move here. The campus is the center of gravity — Prexy's Pasture, the Union, the dorms along Willett, and the department buildings pull a steady stream of graduation, birthday, and congratulations orders, spiking hard every May and every August move-in. Off campus, the deliveries fan out along Grand Avenue and Third Street into downtown, up to Ivinson Memorial Hospital on East Ivinson for get-well and new-baby drops, and into the residential grid on the west side past the old Union Pacific tracks. What makes Laramie its own delivery problem is the elevation and the weather: at 7,200 feet, a March storm off the Snowy Range can shut the interstate, so the shops here plan routes around the plows, not around traffic.
