Flowers for Green River, WY

Picture the order that defines Green River: a get-well bouquet headed to a trona miner just off a long shift, or birthday flowers to a house tucked under the sandstone wall of Castle Rock. This is a high-desert railroad and mining town, the seat of Sweetwater County, sitting on the river that gave it its name and only a dozen interstate miles from Rock Springs. Deliveries here run through the neighborhoods below Tollgate and Castle Rock, along Flaming Gorge Way and Uinta Drive, out to the schools, and — a Green River specialty — to the soda-ash plants and mine sites that ring the county, where shift schedules and gate security shape when and how flowers can actually be handed over. The distances are real: Sweetwater is one of the largest counties in Wyoming, and the desert between towns is empty.
