Flowers for Elizabeth City, NC

Elizabeth City calls itself the Harbor of Hospitality, and the phrase is not just a slogan — the town grew up around the point where the Pasquotank River widens toward the Albemarle Sound, and the waterfront still sets the rhythm of the place. For a florist, that means the day's orders cluster in a handful of spots: the historic downtown around Mariners' Wharf and Water Street, the ECSU campus that brings graduation and congratulations flowers every spring, Sentara Albemarle Medical Center on the Halstead Boulevard side for get-well drops, and the residential blocks that reach out toward the Coast Guard Air Station, the largest such base on the East Coast. Because the city sits at the far northeastern corner of the state, most deliveries stay tight inside 27909 rather than sprawling across a metro.
