Flowers for Columbus, GA

Fort Moore sets the rhythm of Columbus flower orders more than any calendar holiday. Graduation Thursdays at the Infantry and Armor schools send families in from three states, and the coolers empty on the mornings a class turns blue-cord — congratulations bouquets carried to on-post ceremonies, roses waiting in hotel rooms along Victory Drive for a soldier back from a rotation. Away from the post the city runs its own errands: sympathy sprays for the churches in Wynnton and Bibb City, get-well arrangements down to Piedmont Columbus Regional's Midtown tower, birthday deliveries out to the newer subdivisions in Midland and North Columbus past the 31909 line. The RiverWalk and the whitewater course have turned the downtown bank into event ground, so wedding and anniversary work clusters near the old mills and the Coca-Cola Space Science Center.
