Where our location information comes from

Hospital locations

The CMS Hospital General Information dataset supplies 5,419 provider records, including 5,354 across the 50 states and Washington, DC. Other records are in US territories. Source update: 2026-07-22; downloaded 2026-09-26.

CMS records describe Medicare-registered providers. They do not cover every hospital campus or identify every department. CMS data is public US government information; no government endorsement is implied. For individually reviewed branches, the detail page links to the institution’s own address and policy sources.

Funeral home locations

The current import contains 2,635 locations, with records in all 50 states and Washington, DC, plus Puerto Rico. Downloaded 2026-09-26. Coverage is uneven and does not include every funeral home.

Community map locations are supplied by © OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database License (ODbL). The source record is linked on each location page. Mapped businesses may be missing or out of date; this is not a comprehensive licensed funeral-home registry. The date of a map edit is not confirmation of current business operations.

Our import accepts records with a name, street number, street, city, recognized US state or territory, and a valid ZIP code. Incomplete records are excluded, with no invented addresses. Branches separately reviewed against institution websites are labeled accordingly.

Download the OSM-derived location directory (JSON, ODbL). This downloadable directory contains public business facts only; customer and operational records are separate.

Receiving rules and local time

Always confirm the current receiving rules with the facility. Hospital units can restrict flowers, and a funeral receiving deadline can be earlier than the service. Older policy documents are labeled as historical guidance.

Dates and deadlines use the facility’s local clock. For states with multiple clock rules, the preparation form asks you to confirm the zone. See the official US time map. A time-zone choice is not confirmation that a receiving window is available.

If a location has moved, a source is outdated, or two addresses disagree, contact our support team with the listing link and the institution’s official location page. Do not include patient or recipient details.

Until the location and receiving arrangements are confirmed, the directory is a starting point for planning.
