Can I send get-well flowers to a Tampa hospital same-day?
+
Same-day options depend on the delivery ZIP, requested date, florist availability and that florist's local cutoff. Check the available options before paying; a city listing does not guarantee delivery today.
Can you deliver flowers to a Moffitt Cancer Center patient?
+
Often yes, but the design has to be built for it and some units will refuse anything living. Moffitt, on USF Magnolia Drive, is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center with a blood and marrow transplant program, and transplant plus other severely immunocompromised units commonly bar fresh flowers and potted plants because soil and standing water carry mold spores. Where flowers are allowed, send lily-free, low-pollen and unscented material in a clean vase, kept compact for a tray table. Tell us the unit when you order and the studio will call the floor before routing rather than risking a rejected delivery at the desk.
What are the rules for ICU, NICU and pediatric floors in Tampa?
+
Most ICUs and virtually all NICUs do not accept flowers, so for a patient in critical or neonatal care the right send is to the family's home or the waiting family member instead. Pediatric floors at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital on the MLK campus, Tampa General's children's services and Shriners Children's Florida generally accept flowers but restrict latex balloons — mylar only, and many hospitals ban latex entirely for allergy reasons. Keep pediatric arrangements small, stable and unscented, and skip glass where a toddler is mobile. If you are unsure, order and add a note; the studio will check with the unit.
Which Tampa-area hospitals do you deliver get-well flowers to?
+
Tampa General Hospital at 1 Tampa General Circle on Davis Islands, the region's Level I trauma center; Moffitt Cancer Center on USF Magnolia Drive and Moffitt McKinley Hospital; St. Joseph's Hospital on W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd with St. Joseph's Women's and St. Joseph's Children's on the same campus; AdventHealth Tampa at 3100 E Fletcher Avenue and AdventHealth Carrollwood on N Dale Mabry; Memorial Hospital of Tampa; the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital on Bruce B. Downs Blvd; Shriners Children's Florida. Suburban coverage includes the Brandon hospital on Oakfield Drive, St. Joseph's-South in Riverview and St. Joseph's-North in Lutz.
What information does the hospital need for the delivery to work?
+
Four things, and a missing one is the usual failure. The patient's full legal name exactly as admitted; the hospital and the campus, because St. Joseph's on MLK is a different address from St. Joseph's-South in Riverview and AdventHealth Tampa on Fletcher is not AdventHealth Carrollwood; the unit, floor or department; and a mobile number for a family member. Hospitals will not give a room number to a driver, so the arrangement is handed to a front desk, volunteer desk or nursing station and walked up from there. If the patient may be discharged within a day, give us the home address as a fallback.
What should I send if the floor will not accept flowers?
+
Send to the people instead of the room. The family member keeping vigil in a Tampa General or Moffitt waiting area is often the one who needs it most, and a compact arrangement at their home or hotel does more good than a rejected delivery. Alternatively hold the order until discharge and send it to the house, where it lasts a week rather than a day. For transplant and other no-soil units, avoid potted plants entirely — the restriction is about soil-borne mold, not about the flowers looking untidy. Tell us the situation in the order notes and the assigned studio will steer you.
How much do get-well flowers cost in Tampa?
+
The listed arrangements in this selection start at $32.49. Delivery charges, taxes and optional extras are confirmed for the selected florist and recipient before payment.
Does Tampa heat affect a get-well delivery?
+
Yes, more than most cities. From June into September the heat index is punishing and afternoon thunderstorms are near-daily, so an arrangement that waits in a car or sits in a lobby through the afternoon arrives tired. Ask for a morning window. Studios here build get-well work from material that tolerates the conditions — gerbera, alstroemeria, carnation, compact dendrobium orchid, anthurium and Florida-grown cut greens, since Florida supplies most of the country's leatherleaf fern and foliage. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, and if a storm closes a campus or suspends visiting, the studio holds and rebuilds rather than abandoning the piece.
