Birthday flowers in Rock Hill

The desk-drop map here does not look like a big city's, because Rock Hill's own employers are concentrated downtown and along the north-side commercial spine while a large share of working-age residents drive somewhere else entirely. In town, Comporium — the locally owned telephone and cable company on East Black Street — is the classic Rock Hill birthday address, along with 3D Systems, whose headquarters sits on the 29730 side and which keeps a lot of engineers at desks that receive flowers badly and enjoy them anyway. Add City of Rock Hill offices around Old Town and the Knowledge Park blocks on the old Bleachery ground off White Street, York Technical College on South Anderson Road, Winthrop University academic departments off Oakland Avenue, and the shift-heavy staff at Piedmont Medical Center on Herlong Avenue. Then the commuter half: Rock Hill empties north every morning toward the Fort Mill and Indian Land office parks — Continental Tire the Americas in Fort Mill, the LPL Financial campus there, Movement Mortgage and Red Ventures up along Charlotte Highway — and beyond them into Charlotte itself. Fort Mill and Indian Land are inside our 18-mile radius and Palmetto Blossom is the closest bench to the 29707 side. Uptown Charlotte is not inside the radius, so if the birthday person works in a tower on Tryon Street, send the flowers to the house and let them find them when they get home at seven.
