Ringgold is where Georgia begins for anyone driving south out of Chattanooga — the first exits off I-75 below the state line, the 1847 sandstone depot that survived Sherman and a 2011 tornado both, and Taylor's Ridge standing over the Ringgold Gap where a Confederate rear guard bought Bragg's army a day in 1863. The town rebuilt after that April tornado tore through downtown, and today its most distinctive flower business is the wedding-chapel trade: couples slip across the line for fast, pretty ceremonies, and the depot-district chapels keep local florists in bouquets and boutonnieres year-round.
