Flowers for Dalton, GA

Ask anyone in Dalton and they will tell you the town runs on carpet — the mills and flooring showrooms that made this the Carpet Capital of the World employ half the county and account for a surprising slice of the flower orders too: retirement bouquets for a plant foreman with thirty years in, get-well baskets to a machine operator, client thank-yous to the sales offices along Abutment and Callahan. Around that industrial spine sits an ordinary small-city routine. Downtown Hamilton Street holds the square; Dalton State College brings graduation and congratulations work each spring; Hamilton Medical Center on Memorial Drive draws the steady stream of get-well and new-baby deliveries. I-75 splits the county north to south, and the neighborhoods fan out along Cleveland Highway and Walnut Avenue toward Rocky Face and the ridges.
