Because there is no date, you can give the shop a week. That is worth more than anything else you can do with the order. A delivery that must land on February 14 or on somebody's fiftieth is a hard commitment with a clock on it; a delivery that can happen any afternoon between Tuesday and Friday goes out on whichever run is already heading toward 11803, which means it gets there in better condition and with less chance of a missed attempt. Write *any day this week is fine* in the notes and mean it. It matters here specifically because Plainview never got a railroad station — the station lots in Hicksville, Syosset, Bethpage and Farmingdale hold this hamlet's cars from before seven until evening, and the houses they came from stand empty all the way through the middle of the day. Given four possible days instead of one, a driver can take the Thursday run that happens to be after five, or catch a Friday morning when somebody is working from home. Given one fixed afternoon, they get a dark house and a locked storm door.
Plainview's everyday geography is small and legible, and the delivery addresses sit two streets off it. The Manetto Hill shopping strip on Manetto Hill Road is where Plainviewny Flowers is, at number 8, and it is also where the Mid-Island Y JCC sits a short way along the same road — a genuine centre of gravity for this hamlet. Old Country Road is the east-west spine: the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library is on it, Round Swamp Farm sells out of its farm market on it, Northwell Health Plainview Hospital stands on it, and two miles west it turns into the retail stretch of Hicksville, where Centerview Florist is at number 190. Broadway in Hicksville, a little further on, carries Long Island's largest South Asian shopping district and the mall at its northern end. Round Swamp Road runs south past Old Bethpage Village Restoration, the living-history village, toward Bethpage State Park and the bikeway. The residential streets that matter for delivery are the ones running off those spines — Haypath Road, Washington Avenue, Central Park Road, South Oyster Bay Road, and the loops of Old Bethpage inside 11804. If you can name the nearest of those to the address, the shop will find it faster than a GPS pin will.
