Flowers for New Bern, NC

Two rivers made New Bern, and they still shape how flowers move through it. The Neuse and the Trent fold together at the town's tip, wrapping Union Point Park and the boardwalk, and the oldest streets — Pollock, Middle, Broad, and East Front — fan back from that point past Tryon Palace and its gardens. This is a town that leans into its history: the colonial capital, the first place named for Bern, Switzerland, the corner pharmacy where Pepsi was mixed, and a fiberglass bear on nearly every block. For a delivery driver, the historic core and the Ghent bungalows are the easy part; the mileage stacks up heading out to Trent Woods and River Bend, across the Neuse bridge to Bridgeton, or down to the gated lanes of Fairfield Harbour. Get-well arrangements land at CarolinaEast Medical Center on Trent Road, and the sympathy calendar moves through the downtown funeral homes and the churches out along US-70.
