Franciscan East or IU Health Arnett — how do I tell which one my relative is in?
+
Ask for the street, not the brand. Franciscan Health Lafayette East is the Creasy Lane campus; IU Health Arnett is on McCarty Lane closer to the interstate. They sit minutes apart on the same side of town, which is forgiving, but the two front desks do not share a patient list, so a delivery addressed to the wrong one has to be carried back out and driven over. If the family says St. Elizabeth or Home Hospital, those are older Lafayette names and you should confirm the current campus before ordering. Put the patient's full name as the admitting desk spelled it, plus the room or unit if you have it — a first name with a guessed floor number is the combination that leaves a delivery sitting downstairs until visiting hours are over.
Can flowers be delivered to a hospital room the same day here?
+
Same-day options depend on the delivery ZIP, requested date, florist availability and that florist's local cutoff. Check the available options before paying; a city listing does not guarantee delivery today.
Lilies are her favourite. Can they go in a hospital arrangement?
+
Not to a room, and the reason is practical rather than fussy. Lily pollen transfers onto everything it touches — bedding, a gown, the tray a meal is about to arrive on — and clearing it becomes a job for whoever is on the unit that afternoon. The scent works against anti-sickness medication, which is exactly what most people in those beds are taking, and a shared room means the neighbour inherits the decision. So room-bound builds from this studio leave the whole family out, and the strongly perfumed material with them. Save the lilies for the day she comes home: order them for a house delivery on discharge day and she gets the flowers she actually wanted.
What about oncology, intensive care and newborn units?
+
Those are the units most likely to refuse, and hearing that from us beats hearing it from a volunteer downstairs. Where the treatment works on the immune system, living material is often refused as a class — the bloom and the compost both — because a vase of warm water standing beside a person with no defences is an infection question before it is a gift. Critical care and newborn units tend to keep a blanket rule rather than assess each bouquet. Name the unit in the order: the shop rings the floor first and we pass on what it said, instead of driving out and hoping somebody signs for it.
My child is at Riley in Indianapolis, not in Lafayette. Can you still help?
+
Not from this page, and that is worth stating plainly rather than taking the order. Riley Hospital for Children sits roughly sixty-five miles down I-65 in Indianapolis, outside the 60-mile radius this market covers, and paediatric cases from Tippecanoe County are routinely transferred there — so the family may have moved hospitals since you last spoke. Order from our Indianapolis pages instead, where local shops are minutes from the campus. If a sibling or grandparent is still at home in Lafayette, a delivery here is often the more useful gift anyway: the house is where nobody has eaten a proper meal in three days. Ask the family which hospital rather than assuming, as well: a transfer down I-65 often happens overnight, and whoever called you on Monday may not have thought to say so.
Can you deliver to a Purdue student who is ill?
+
Yes, and it will almost certainly not be a hospital address. Students are seen at the Purdue University Student Health Center on campus and sent back to a residence hall or an apartment, so the delivery target is a hall front desk on ZIP 47907 or a Chauncey Village, Levee or State Street apartment on 47906. Give us the hall name exactly — Cary Quadrangle, Earhart, Wiley, Windsor, Hillenbrand, Shreve, Tarkington, Owen, McCutcheon — or the apartment building and unit number, plus a mobile number, because a student with the flu does not answer an unknown call. Soup is not on our list, but a plant lasts the rest of the semester.
The recovery is happening at home. Does that change the arrangement?
+
It opens up the design and complicates the doorway. A house has no unit policy, so the tall, fragrant, lily-filled arrangement that the room would have refused is suddenly the right gift. Access is the new problem: two weeks after surgery, somebody in a Ninth Street Hill or Highland Park house is slow on stairs and will not reach the porch before a driver gives up, so tell us to send a text on arrival and wait a minute, and say whether the door in use is the front one or the side one by the drive. In an Indiana January, mention an enclosed porch if there is one — ten minutes on a cold step finishes a bouquet.
Can you reach a care home or a hospital outside Lafayette?
+
Within the widened radius, yes. Long-stay deliveries to the Westminster Village community in West Lafayette are straightforward, and county care homes and the smaller hospitals around us are reachable — Franciscan Health Crawfordsville, Witham in Lebanon, IU Health White Memorial in Monticello, and the care buildings in Delphi, Fowler and Attica. Two practicalities: a long stay is better served by a plant than by cut stems, since one delivery outlasts three, and a room number is essential because these buildings rarely page a resident. Order a day ahead for anything beyond the county line, because it comes off the same single bench as the in-town runs. If the resident has a usual chair by a window or spends the day in a shared lounge, say so — a plant left where they actually sit tends to get watered by somebody.
