Flowers for Jefferson, WI

Jefferson wears its German roots openly — it bills itself as the Gemütlichkeit City, and the name fits a town built where the Crawfish River empties into the Rock, two waterways meeting at the county seat. The old downtown square, the courthouse, and the shops along Main and Racine Streets form a tight center, and Jefferson County Fair Park on the south edge is the town's biggest gathering ground. For flower delivery that compactness helps: the square, the river neighborhoods, and the newer streets off Highway 26 are all a short drive apart. What extends the day is the county geography around it — Fort Atkinson a few miles south, Watertown to the north, and the farm roads in between, all of which Jefferson's shops know well from years of sympathy, get-well, and anniversary runs.
