Flowers for Harrah, OK

Drive Reno Avenue east from Oklahoma City and the metro quietly runs out of itself — subdivisions thin, the pecan bottoms of the North Canadian close in, and the water tower that finally breaks the treeline belongs to Harrah. This is the edge where the city becomes country: OG&E's Horseshoe Lake plant hums by the river north of town, Church Avenue keeps a compact strip of storefronts, and Friday nights in fall belong to Panther Stadium. Flower routes here follow section lines rather than street grids. In-town stops around Heritage Park and the school campuses go quickly; the acreage lots toward Newalla and the McLoud line ask for a mailbox check and a longer gravel approach, which local shops build into the day rather than treat as an exception.
