Flowers for Dillon, CO

Everything in Dillon orbits the water and the altitude. The town sits at roughly nine thousand feet on the shore of its own reservoir, the marina and the lakeside amphitheater filling with summer crowds and the winter turning the whole basin into a staging area for Keystone, Breckenridge, and Copper Mountain. I-70 is the artery, and it dictates the flower business as much as any street address does — a bouquet's travel time depends on whether the interstate is clear or stacked bumper to bumper over a powder weekend. Between the resort rushes, Dillon delivers like the tight-knit community it is underneath the tourism: anniversary roses to the condos above the lake, get-well arrangements down to St. Anthony Summit Hospital in Frisco, birthday bouquets to the year-round families in Silverthorne and up the Snake River toward Keystone.
