About Wheat Ridge
Where we deliver in Wheat Ridge.
There is a reason the city seal has a carnation on it. For much of the twentieth century Wheat Ridge was the greenhouse capital of the West — acres of glass along 44th and Harlan shipping carnations to florists across the country, earning the town the nickname Carnation City long before it was a Denver bedroom suburb. The greenhouses are mostly gone, replaced by the tree-lined streets of Applewood and the revived shopfronts of the Ridge at 38 district, but flowers are still stitched into the place. Today the deliveries run to the bungalows off 32nd and Youngfield, the newer townhomes near the Wheat Ridge / Ward light-rail station on the G Line, and the Clear Creek greenbelt where the city keeps its parks — a walkable, leafy pocket of Jefferson County wedged between Arvada to the north and Lakewood to the south.
