Flowers for Bloomer, WI

Bloomer wears its nickname on a downtown banner: the Jump Rope Capital of the World, a title the little Chippewa County town has held onto since its speed-jumping contests started drawing crowds decades ago. Beyond the ropes, it's a compact farm-country town of a few thousand north of Eau Claire, built along Main Street with Duncan Creek and its old dam and millpond running through the middle. Deliveries reflect that scale — short hops from the shop to a house a few blocks over, or a longer roll out the county highways to a farmstead toward New Auburn. The steady work is the local clinic and care homes, the funeral homes handling services for families that have been here generations, birthdays and graduations tied to Bloomer High, and get-well orders that ride down to St. Joseph's in Chippewa Falls or Mayo in Eau Claire when someone's in for more than a checkup.
