Flowers for Union Point, GA

Union Point earned its name from the railroad — it was the point where the Georgia and the Athens branch lines met, laid out in 1834 when the tracks reached this stretch of Greene County. Today it is a quiet town of about 1,600 wrapped in farmland, roughly halfway between Athens and the fast-growing Lake Oconee resort corridor. Flowers here move on a simpler map than in the metros: the storefronts along Sibley Avenue and the old depot area, the churches and their fellowship halls, the local funeral home, and the residential lanes off Rhodes and Lamb. The reach that matters is outward — ten minutes to Greensboro and its county courthouse, a bit farther to the lake's gated communities — so an order for a downtown address is quick, while one for a Reynolds Lake Oconee cottage is a planned run the florist maps before promising a time.
