Flowers for Somersworth, NH

Somersworth earned the nickname Hilltop City honestly — the old downtown climbs a rise above the Salmon Falls River, which is also the Maine state line, so a stone's throw east of High Street you are in Berwick. It is one of the smallest cities in New Hampshire by area, a tight former mill town wedged between Dover to the south and Rochester to the north, and that squeeze defines its flower delivery. In-town runs are short: the Great Falls mill blocks by the river, the churches and neighborhoods off Main and High, the schools on the hill. But because the city is so compact, a large share of the flowers ordered here are really headed next door — to Wentworth-Douglass in Dover, to Frisbie Memorial in Rochester, or south toward the University of New Hampshire in Durham. The Seacoast is one continuous errand from this hilltop.
