Can I send birthday flowers same-day in Pittsburgh?
+
Same-day options depend on the delivery ZIP, requested date, florist availability and that florist's local cutoff. Check the available options before paying; a city listing does not guarantee delivery today.

Can you deliver to a Pitt, CMU or Duquesne student for their birthday?
+
Yes, and Oakland is a short run from the Squirrel Hill and East End benches. What matters is the address detail: the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon, Duquesne on the Bluff, Carlow, Chatham in Shadyside and Point Park Downtown all use keyed residence halls or front-desk mailrooms, so we need the building name plus a room or apartment number and the student's phone. Off-campus tenants in Oakland, South Oakland, Shadyside and Bloomfield are usually behind a locked vestibule with a buzzer that may not be labeled. With a phone number on the order the driver reaches the student directly; without one, the bouquet goes back to the shop.
What happens if it is freezing on the delivery day?
+
Western Pennsylvania winters genuinely matter for cut flowers, and our studios plan around them. From roughly December through March a bouquet left on an unheated porch in Beechview, Brookline, Mt. Washington, Troy Hill or Ross can freeze within a couple of hours, which shows up as translucent, collapsed petals a day later. Add a phone number and any access note, and the studio will call before leaving anything outside, hand off to a neighbor or a building desk, or reschedule for the next window rather than gamble. If the recipient works, a weekday office drop is the safer January plan than an empty house.
What flowers are actually in season around Pittsburgh?
+
There is a real local calendar here, not just a catalog. Lilac and peonies arrive late May into June; hydrangea, dahlias, snapdragons and zinnias carry the summer and often push into a warm October; sunflowers peak in August; tulips, daffodils and flowering branches lead the spring. Through the winter the studios lean on imported garden roses, alstroemeria, lisianthus, spray roses, carnations and gerbera, with evergreen and berry accents in December. If you want the freshest thing in the cooler rather than a fixed catalog photo, say so in the order notes — the designer will build around what came in that morning.
