Flowers for Newbern, TN

Newbern was built by the railroad. The Illinois Central line came through and set the town's grid, and the restored depot is still the landmark everyone gives directions from — the flower orders that come off this page tend to reference it too, the blocks around the tracks where the old downtown and the churches sit. This is a Dyer County farm town first, five minutes north of Dyersburg on US-51, and the calendar reads like one: spring graduation bouquets for the high school, Mother's Day and Decoration Day runs to the country churches, get-well work heading south to the Dyersburg hospital, and steady sympathy orders for families whose names have been in the county for generations. In summer the crop-country roads out toward Trimble and Dyer add anniversary and just-because deliveries to the mix.
