Flowers for DUMBO, NY

DUMBO — Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass — is Brooklyn's waterfront tech-and-arts pocket, wedged between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges on cobblestone streets that once served the warehouses now converted into lofts, galleries, and offices. It is three neighborhoods in one small footprint: the Brooklyn Bridge Park waterfront with Jane's Carousel, Pier 1 through Pier 6, and the Fulton Ferry Landing; the cobblestone core of Washington, Water, and Front Streets lined with luxury condos, Time Out Market, Empire Stores, and the postcard view of the Manhattan Bridge framed at the end of Washington Street; and the creative-and-tech office cluster that fills Empire Stores and the surrounding lofts. Flower delivery here is about building literacy — knowing whether a Water Street address is a doorman condo or a loft buzzer, whether an Empire Stores drop routes through a security desk, and whether a Brooklyn Bridge Park event has a permit window the driver has to hit.
