Monroe never bothered building a downtown. The town organizes itself around two greens instead — St. Peter's white steeple above Monroe Center where Routes 110 and 111 meet, and the smaller historic green at Stepney down Route 25 — with everything else strung between wooded cul-de-sacs, the swim beach at Great Hollow Lake, and the quiet Housatonic coves at Stevenson where Lake Zoar backs up behind the old dam. Flower routes here are house calls in the truest sense: long gravel driveways, colonials set far off the road, a school calendar that produces corsage caravans to Masuk every spring and one June morning when half the town gathers at the graduation field.

Eden Florist is Monroe's own counter, and it is new to our marketplace — no reviews on its card yet, because every shop starts at zero here rather than borrowing a number it did not earn.
