About Kingsport

Kingsport was drawn up on paper before it was built — a 1910s planned industrial town organized around the Church Circle and a grid of named districts, which still makes it one of the easier East Tennessee cities to route flowers through. Downtown holds Broad Street and the circle of churches that gives the city its nickname of the Model City; just south the streets rise into Colonial Heights; to the north sit Lynn Garden and the older mill neighborhoods; and Eastman Chemical, the company that built the place, spreads across the east side and drives a steady stream of office and get-well orders. The Holston River and Bays Mountain Park frame the town, and Stone Drive is the retail spine everyone knows.
