The hospital names around here all sound alike. Which one are they in?
+
Ask for the street number, not the brand. Houston Methodist West is 18500 Katy Freeway and Texas Children's West Campus is 18200 — neighbours at Barker Cypress, both addressed to Houston in 77094 rather than Katy in 77494. Memorial Hermann Katy is 23900 Katy Freeway and is the one genuinely inside town. HCA Houston Healthcare Katy is separate again, and Houston Methodist Continuing Care on South Fry Road handles long-term acute care. Four different answers to the phrase "the Katy hospital", each with a different nearest bench. A street number settles it in one message.
Can you deliver to Texas Children's Hospital West Campus?
+
Yes, with the tightest rules on this corridor. The neonatal unit accepts nothing living at all, cut or potted, so for a NICU family the delivery that actually helps goes to their house in Cinco Ranch, Cane Island or Elyson, where nobody has cooked in a fortnight. Paediatric intensive care and the cancer and blood-disorder service work the same way. Latex balloons are refused at the entrance over allergy risk; foil generally passes. For a general paediatric floor, send low, unscented and lily-free, with the child's full name and unit. Cypresstx Flowers on Barker Cypress Road is the shortest run to that door.
What actually gets through at Houston Methodist West or Memorial Hermann Katy?
+
At both of those it varies by floor rather than by building. Maternity, orthopaedics and the general post-surgical wards are the easy end and take almost anything you would send to a house. Intensive care, burns and neurology are kept clear of flowers as a matter of routine, and the workable alternative there is a handoff in the lobby to a relative you can name on the order. Everything else on those campuses wants the same build: no lilies, no fragrance, plastic or ceramic rather than glass, and short enough to sit beside the water jug on a cabinet the size of a dinner plate.
They were taken to an emergency centre on Mason Road. Can you send there?
+
You can, but it will almost certainly miss them. Katy has a line of freestanding emergency centres along Mason Road, Fry Road, Highland Knolls and the Grand Parkway feeder — they are signposted like hospitals and they hold nobody overnight. A patient is treated and released within hours, or stabilised and transferred to Memorial Hermann Katy, Houston Methodist West or the Medical Center. Flowers left at one of those reception desks sit there after the person has gone. Give it two hours, ask the family where they were admitted, and send to that building or to the house instead.
What do you need from me for a delivery to a patient's room?
+
The building, the unit and the patient's full legal name as admitting recorded it, with a room number if the family has one. None of these campuses will search a census from a first name and a description, and a patient who has opted out of the facility directory cannot be confirmed as admitted at all — that arrangement comes straight back to the shop. Add a mobile number for a relative as the fallback, which is what rescues most of them. And spell the hospital out: on this corridor a surname plus "Katy Freeway" leaves a driver choosing between four buildings.
They are recovering at home in Cinco Ranch. What changes?
+
Everything relaxes except the gate. Send the fuller version — fragrance if they like it, lilies if they love them, a vessel worth keeping — since no ward policy applies on a kitchen table. The obstacles are local ones: gated sections of Cinco Ranch, Firethorne and Cross Creek Ranch need a gate code or a guardhouse name in the notes, and Gulf Coast heat means an unattended porch drop in July is a bad idea. Leave a mobile number so the driver can knock. Discharge day itself is usually worth skipping; send the day after, once the car ride home is over.
