Flowers for Kailua-Kona, HI

The Kona side is the Big Island's dry, bright west coast, and it stacks from the water straight up the volcano. Ali'i Drive runs the shoreline through Kailua-Kona town past the old pier and Hulihee Palace; a few minutes mauka the road climbs into Holualoa and the coffee belt, where farms hang off the Hualalai slope; and to the south sit Kealakekua and Captain Cook above the bay where Captain Cook met his end. Flower orders spread across all of it — anniversary bouquets for the Keauhou condos, birthday arrangements carried up switchbacks into coffee country, and get-well flowers run up the highway to Kona Community Hospital in Kealakekua, the west side's hospital. The island grows its own anthuriums, orchids, and protea, so a Kona designer works with material that looks like Hawaii instead of a boxed mainland mix that lost its snap in transit.
