Greenville is close to a company town, and that shapes birthday orders here more than neighborhood geography does. East Carolina University and ECU Health together employ a very large share of the working city, so "send it to her office" almost always resolves to one of two enormous institutional addresses rather than to a leased suite in a tower. The catch is that ECU is two campuses about two miles apart and both are called ECU. The main campus sits at the downtown end of Fifth Street around Wright Plaza and Joyner Library, and it is where the academic departments, the administrative offices and the student-facing buildings are. The Health Sciences Campus is out west near the hospital, off Moye Boulevard and Stantonsburg Road, and it holds the Brody School of Medicine at 600 Moye Blvd along with nursing, dental and allied-health buildings. An order that says only "East Carolina University, Greenville" has a genuine coin flip in it. Write the building name and the department — mail and deliveries route by department here — and the drop lands on the right desk the first time.
For the residential half of the volume, the studio's location does real work. 698 East Arlington Blvd puts Cox Floral Expressions in the middle of the Arlington Boulevard and Evans Street retail spine, about 2.5 miles from the centroid of 27858, which is the ZIP covering most of south and east Greenville. From there, Red Banks Road, Bells Fork, Lynndale, the Ironwood golf neighborhood and the newer subdivisions strung along Fire Tower Road are all inside a ten-minute run. Brook Valley sits northeast off NC-33 and College View, the older neighborhood pressed up against the main campus, is a short hop up Charles Boulevard. Know which of the two Greenville ZIPs you are sending to: 27834 covers the north and west of the city including the hospital side, 27858 covers the south and east including the studio's own block, and the same street name can appear on both sides of town. Winterville 28590, Ayden 28513 and Farmville 27828 are separate municipalities on the same delivery map, not Greenville addresses, and writing the town name prevents a driver from circling the wrong subdivision. Apartment numbers matter enormously in the student belt, where a building name without a unit is not an address.
