Flowers for Frankfort, IL

Frankfort kept its downtown when most south-suburban towns paved theirs over. The old grain-elevator village at the rail line became a restored district of brick shops and a village green, Breidert Green, with the Old Plank Road Trail — a rail-to-trail path — running straight through it. That walkable core is where a lot of Frankfort's flower orders start and end: a birthday arrangement for someone who works one of the boutiques, a bouquet dropped at a downtown restaurant before a dinner, an anniversary surprise carried to a Trail-side home. Push out from the green and the town turns into the subdivisions that grew along LaGrange Road and Sauk Trail through the boom years, family blocks that keep the sympathy, get-well, and just-because volume steady all year.
