The five ZIPs each behave differently on an everyday run, and it is worth knowing which one you are sending into. 92882 is the historic core: downtown, the bungalow streets in and around the Grand Boulevard circle, Main and Sixth, City Park, and westward to the Sierra Del Oro hillside and the Green River corridor near the Orange County line. This is the densest and quickest territory, with one recurring trap — Grand is a roughly three-mile ring signed North, South, East and West Grand Boulevard, so a house number without a quadrant can put a driver a mile and a half from the door. 92879 runs east along the Magnolia and Ontario Avenue corridors toward the Home Gardens edge, and for the far end of it the Riverside shop is sometimes the faster bench. 92880 is north Corona toward the Eastvale line, which is also where the industrial belt sits — Cessna Circle, North Sheridan Street, Sampson Avenue, Railroad Street, Hidden Valley Parkway. 92881 is south-central: Foothill Parkway, the Santiago High School side, established tracts of the nineteen-nineties and two-thousands. 92883 is Temescal Valley, ten to fifteen minutes down the 15 — Sycamore Creek, Terramor, Painted Hills, the Glen Ivy corner and the 55-plus Trilogy at Glen Ivy community — the longest routine run on the grid and the one most worth ordering early.
The everyday reasons in Corona have a local flavour, and they are not the ones a national catalogue guesses at. A lot of this city arrived recently from Orange County and Los Angeles County, trading a smaller place near the coast for a house with a yard on the inland side of the Santa Ana Canyon — so new-address flowers are a real category here, especially out in the Temescal Valley tracts and north Corona where the newest building has happened. New-baby arrangements to a house rather than to Corona Regional Medical Center, once the family is home and the visitors have stopped. Thank-you flowers to the neighbour who watched the dogs, which in a gated Eagle Glen or Terramor cul-de-sac is a two-minute walk and still deserves the gesture. Teacher appreciation across Corona-Norco Unified, the largest district in Riverside County, where front-office delivery means the recipient gets called down rather than interrupted. A grandparent at Trilogy at Glen Ivy, which is exactly the kind of address where an unexpected delivery is the week's event. And the largest unnamed category of all: somebody whose week went badly, and a bouquet is the only thing you can actually do about it from where you are.
