Birthday flowers in Concord

After five o'clock the same five benches turn residential, and Concord's housing stock changes character fast enough that the delivery note matters. The North Union Street historic district is Victorian and Queen Anne houses with deep front porches and real steps — the easiest handoff in the city and the place where a bouquet actually gets seen from the sidewalk. Logan, the historically Black neighborhood west of downtown, and the surrounding mill-village grid off Gibson Mill and Brown Mill run tight streets and narrow drives where a driver parks at the curb and knocks. Afton Village off US-29 is a new-urbanist block with alley-loaded garages, so the front door is not always where the car is. West-side subdivisions — Christenbury, Moss Creek, Cox Mill, Weddington Hills, Rocky River, Coddle Creek and the Skybrook edge toward Huntersville — are the gate-code and callbox addresses; if there is a code, put it in the notes, because a driver who cannot get past a gate will leave the arrangement at the amenity center and that is not a birthday surprise. The apartment corridors off Copperfield Boulevard and Concord Mills Boulevard need a building letter and unit number, not just a street. Beyond the city line the 18-mile radius covers 28075 Harrisburg, 28081 and 28083 Kannapolis, 28107 Midland, 28124 Mount Pleasant, and the 28262 and 28269 University City and north Charlotte ZIPs where a lot of Concord families have relatives. Laflor Designs at Hwy 24/27 is usually the shortest run for anything toward Midland, Georgeville or Stanfield; Kannapoliskilby's takes the whole NC-3 and Dale Earnhardt Boulevard side.
