Flowers for Carson City, NV

Being the state capital shapes the flower week here in ways it does not in other Nevada towns. When the Legislature is in session every other year, the blocks around the Capitol and the Legislative Building on Carson Street fill with congratulations arrangements, thank-you bouquets for staff, and the occasional dramatic opening-day desk piece — then the rhythm settles back into the steady business of a Sierra town of about sixty thousand. Day to day, the orders track the map: get-well arrangements headed up US-395 to Carson Tahoe Health, birthdays and anniversaries carried to the ranch-style homes on the west side beneath the Carson Range, and a summer trickle of resort and vacation-rental deliveries as the Tahoe traffic climbs the grade past town. The Carson Valley opens south through Minden and Gardnerville, and Virginia City sits up the old Comstock road, both close enough to share the afternoon route.
